     Teaching procedures:

      I. Organizing the class
      Greeting and a duty report.

      II. Revision
      Students read some words on the cards. “term, certainly, first, third, turn, early, hard, class, half, house, now, evening, leave, machine, ship, forget, broken, away, heavy, second, family, hungry, young, many, etc.

      III. Pronunciation and spelling
      Play the tape for students to listen and repeat, then ask students to give more words having the same pronunciation.
      Play the part of “rhyme” for students to repeat and recite.

      IV. Listening practice
      Listen to the tape and answer the questions.

      V. Reading
    Students read the text silently and answer the following questions.
      1. Where are Ji Wei and John now?
      2. What are they talking about?
      3. Where did they do just now?
      4. What is John going to do after school? After college?
      5. What does he want to learn at college?
      6. Who is following them?

       Play the tape, students follow, teacher answers question they ask and explain some difficult point “college, school for higher education”, “each, every” nobody, not anybody, not anyone .

  要求:
  (1)学生利用业余时间自己从报刊杂志书籍或网上搜集材料。
  (2)篇幅不宜过长,中英文均可,图文并茂。
  (3)要求学生以小组为单位进行讨论,每组4人或5人皆可。
  (4)内容以介绍美国农村生活为主,教师适当给予指导。
  (5)评选最优秀的板报,并给予奖励。

投票选举活动

  教师可以组织学生投票选举Who is the most beautiful girl? Who is the strongest student? Who studies hardest? Who runs fast? 

  (1)教师让学生事先准备好选票四张。先以小组为单位就以上问题进行讨论。
  (2)然后用简单的英语句子写出被选者,注意要使用形容词和副词的最高级。学习好的学生可以写明这样选的原因。
